3/20

"Time for your check up." Lorelai had her doctor's visit today. She took her doctor's kit too so she could help the doctor. Other than a little nervousness when the doctor arrived, she was fine with the whole thing. She didn't cry for her shots... our brave little princess.

Weight: 30.13 lbs
Height: 34.25 inches

3/19

Happy 2nd birthday to the smartest, funniest, strongest, cleverest, little girl in the whole wide world. Look at her climbing up a big kid slide all on her own-- her idea, mind you. Lorelai is amazing.

3/18

Lorelai concentrates so hard, trying to find pictures of her cousin Christopher on Mama's cell phone.

Monday, March 17, 2014

3/17

Birthday week is full of too much fun. Recently with so much activities going on, Lorelai has been missing her nap. It looks like she demanded the nap today!

Sunday, March 16, 2014

3/16

It's the weekend between the "twin cousins'" birthdays. Lorelai and Nicky both turn 2 this week and we celebrated at Nana and Pop-pop's house with some cake and ice cream. Lorelai had a great time opening her presents and playing with her favorite people-- her family.

Saturday, March 15, 2014

3/15

Today we went to the Springfield Saint Patrick's Day Parade! It was Lorelai's first parade and she comepletely loved every moment of it. She saw Pop-pop Boop play the bagpipes, lots of bands and kids marching, she clapped and danced.
Mama and Lorelai ended up with a little sunburn afterwards but nothing too strong.

3/14

Daddy is going on a trip so he wasn't at dinner tonight with Lorelai and Nana to tell Mama no to sushi. Lorelai enjoyed a bit of Philly roll and some smoked salmon-- she insisted on both-- in addition to her chicken fried rice. Lorelai is an adventurous eater.

Thursday, March 13, 2014

3/13

Lorelai has gotten more interested in building and Lego over the past few days. She has a great time playing with her imagination. It is wonderful to see.

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

3/12

We went to dinner tonight with Pop-pop and Gigi. Lorelai was served her milk in a big girl cup with a straw. This is now one of our most prized possessions. "I like it!" she exclaimed, stretching out the word like for emphasis.

Tuesday, March 11, 2014

3/11

On the way back in from a trip to the store, Lorelai wanted to pop some snow. It is the last bit of snow on the lawn after an very long winter... but probably not the last.

Monday, March 10, 2014

3/10

One last FIERCE hug for Jensen tonight as we were leaving their house. Seeing Jensen and Sonja are one of the reasons Lorelai loves Mondays.

Sunday, March 9, 2014

3/9

Lorelai sat nicely today and read herself a few of her books. She even congratulated herself when she asked "where is the red" and pointed to Superman's cape. She was clearly mimicking Mama.

Saturday, March 8, 2014

3/8

Lorelai and Chris built a "bird castle" today at a Lowe's Clinic for kids. We had a lot of fun-- it was our first time going. Lorelai loved using the hammer; she studiously created a lovely weathered look to the wood on the back of the birdhouse. She talked about hammering things for the rest of the day.

Friday, March 7, 2014

3/7

Mama had off from work today but it was too cold to go to the Zoo. Instead, we went to Jumpers, an indoor bouncy house playground. Lorelai was a little scared to bounce out on her own but she loved jumping with Daddy and loved seeing the other kids jumping. Next time, we will bring some cousins!

Thursday, March 6, 2014

3/6

Lorelai loves to read. She loves to have her books read to her. Tonight, she was stacking up her books and telling Mama and Daddy the titles of each. Her rendition was pretty accurate.

Wednesday, March 5, 2014

3/5

Lorelai has been dancing every day-- she loves to dance. She loves music-- "'Tongue Tied', Mama!"-- and spinning. Of course, our little tyrant also loves to command Mama and Daddy dance too.

Tuesday, March 4, 2014

3/4

Lorelai laid down on "the nap couch" with a stack of pillows and a blanket and declared herself just like Mama.

Monday, March 3, 2014

3/3

Lorelai plays the marching drum like Daddy has taught her. Give it a few years-- maybe she'll be playing with Grandpop Boop

Sunday, March 2, 2014

3/2

We went to Famous Dave's tonight with the D'Orazio's. Lorelai was beside herself with excitement to sit next to Lucas to eat dinner, so much so that she barely ate her actual dinner.

Saturday, March 1, 2014

3/1

Lorelai grabbed the broom and declared it a hockey stick. She ran about the room for a hour chasing imaginary pucks and balls. She has a fantastic imagination.

Friday, February 28, 2014

2/28

Daddy fell asleep on the couch tonight. As soon as Lorelai noticed, she made a bee line for his lap. "Good night, Daddy!" then she settled in to kick her feet and play with her iPad, secure in the comfort of her Daddy's side.

Thursday, February 27, 2014

2/27

Like a good Mama, Lorelai spends quality time with her babies. She is always including them in her daily activities-- bouncing, spinning, dancing, You Tube videos on the iPad. Babies are a major part of Lorelai's day.

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

2/26

Lorelai is adorable. She wanted to play with her guys in the castles. She started getting more of the houses together and Daddy helped her finish the job. Her guys like to take up a lot of real estate.

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

2/25

Mama brought home a special happy cake for Lorelai from work today. Lorelai was too excited to see jimmies and icing on her plate after dinner. You have to love that sort of enthusiasm.

Monday, February 24, 2014

2/24

We played at Sonja and Jensen's house tonight. Ghostbusters was on to honor the passing of Egon. Lorelai tried to take a Jensen home with her as her very own but his parents noticed before we made it out the door.

Sunday, February 23, 2014

2/23

We met Aunt Mo, Chris, and Frank tonight at the Springfield Diner for dinner. Mama got her pancake fix and Lorelai at yummy apple sauce and watched all of the kids eating at other tables.

Saturday, February 22, 2014

2/22

SNOW! It was warm today and the snow is still on the ground so we took our little angel outside to play before naptime. She even wore her mittens!!
Daddy taught Lorelai to make snowballs and to throw them at the ground. Lorelai loved to see the snow "pop" when the ball would explode. We put her into the snow pile to stand-- she wasn't such a fan of that idea. The ground was unstable under her feet and she is not a fan of that sort of thing.

Friday, February 21, 2014

2/21

Dylan is actually playing with Lorelai and seems to be having fun. This day is one for the books.

Thursday, February 20, 2014

2/20

When they played the heartbeat, Ian asked Lorelai "What's that?" and she said "BABY!" ... brilliant. We didn't even tell her that was what we were doing. Maybe all the baby pics on the wall in the doctor's office tipped her off.
Heartbeat was 164 and looking good. Lorelai should expect a new friend September 22, 2014.

2/19

Time for a very sleepy girl to go to bed. She cuddled her Daddy really tight on her way up the stairs in her monkey pants. Brush teeth, wash hands, rock-a rock-a, sing songs, and time for blankies. That's the bed time routine these days.

Tuesday, February 18, 2014

2/18

Mama showed Lorelai a few pages from the Lorelai scrapbooks tonight. Lorelai was all too excited to see babies and buttons and sparkles. Lorelai's baby wanted to see too.

A little later, Lorelai insisted on a dance party where Mama and Daddy had specific places in the room to dance in. We all put on cakes and danced in circles. Lorelai taught us how to fly too.

And Daddy helped her fly high, high up in the air.

Lorelai loves a good dance party.

2/17

Lorelai has been dressing herself whenever she can get her little fingers on a piece of clothing lately. Today she wanted to wear elephants (the shirt is flowers but she insisted it was just like the elephant one she likes) and a skirt. The skirt is upside down... but on the correct side facing front so at least there is a start there.
She's brilliant.

Sunday, February 16, 2014

2/16

Lorelai hosted a very demanding dance party this evening at her grandparents. Lorelai commanded the dance style and moves (especially spinning in circles), parading all around the house and singing.

Saturday, February 15, 2014

2/15

It's a father-daughter day! Lorelai wanted to dance to "Tongue Tied" before bed and demanded Daddy pick her up to dance. This was the best picture daddy could manage while cutting a rug with his little girl.

Friday, February 14, 2014

2/14

Happy Valentine's Day, Lorelai! Every day we love you more and more. You are so full of mischief and wonder... Every day...

Thursday, February 13, 2014

2/13

Snow day! 13 inches outside (well, 8 inches on top of more snowfall earlier in the week). Mama worked from home today and Lorelai was all to excited to see that. When she came down from bed, she made a bee line for her Handy Manny laptop, ready to climb up on the couch and set up shop next to Mama for the duration of the work day. She was hard to peel away for lunch time and nap but she eventually relented.

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

2/12

Pea-nut but-ter! Lorelai refused to eat her dinner tonight so Mama suggested we get some kind of protein in her. A handful of peanut butter crackers later and Lorelai is a die had fan for life. She loves pea- nut but-ter.

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

2/11

Lorelai discovered the GummiBar song. Originally from Hungry, it has been translated into several other languages, all of which Lorelai wants her family to dance around to. "Oh, I'm a gummy bear. Yeah, I'm a gummy bear. Oh, I'm a yummy, tummy, funny, lucky gummy bear."

Monday, February 10, 2014

2/10

Happy birthday, Daddy! Lorelai delighted in dinner at Gigi's with happy cake and apple sauce-- two of her favorite things.

Sunday, February 9, 2014

Saturday, February 8, 2014

Lorelai is taking her baby for a ride on the zebra horse. She love bouncing... and taking care of her baby. Now, she can combine the two.

Friday, February 7, 2014

2/7

We went to Pop pop and Gigi's house tonight for dinner and watched the opening of the Winter Olympics. Lorelai had a grand time singing and dancing for her grandparents.

Thursday, February 6, 2014

2/6

Lorelai has an App on her iPad that has a Monster with an open mouth. The idea is you draw snacks for the monster to eat. Daddy has been teaching Lorelai to draw bananas and berries. The berries are colorful dots and the bananas are curvy yellow lines. She loves this program.

Some highlights of the text messages Daddy sent Mama about Lorelai this week:

Daddy: Lorelai is the most adorable. I got something stuck in my throat and and Lorelai patted me and said "it's OK daddy."
Mama: Awwwwwwww
Daddy: Isn't she sweet?
Mama: She really is the sweetest

Daddy: "Oh and Lorelai was typically adorable today. When we got dressed she wanted to lay on the best and she used your pillows as blankets. She kept saying warm. I treid to take a picture but between her moving and yelling at me to laydown, it didn't work."

Tuesday, February 4, 2014

2/4

BLAST OFF!
Chris invited Lorelai over to play in his rocket ship tonight. Lorelai spent all day leading up to the play date talking to Daddy about Aunt Momo and Christopher with some unintelligible gibberish involved. She was very excited.

Monday, February 3, 2014

2/3

Lorelai put her bloomers on her head and thusly declared them "hat".

Sunday, February 2, 2014

2/2

Lorelai, dancing, at our Super Bowl party. It was unbelievably adorable. Lorelai was so full of energy... and party snacks.
