Dylan was over today after school. Dylan set up a hockey rink (which also conveniently blocked Lorelai out of the hockey game he was playing). Lorelai set herself up on the side lines to watch the exciting match. After a while, Lorelai got it in her head to play with one of the castles (rink walls) and dragged it across the room. Dylan tried to use all of his powers of persuasion to get her to return the rink wall and play with it where he wanted the castle.

Lorelai shows off her Superman Muscles!
Daddy asked "Lorelai, where are your muscles?" "Right here!" and she pointed to the drawn abs on the shirt.
Daddy said "Lorelai, show me your big muscles." Lorelai scrunched up her arms and gritted her teeth. She has amazing muscles.

Daddy is teaching Lorelai how to draw berries and a banana for the monster to eat in her App. Lorelai is shocking good at using the I-pad she got for Christmas. Santa knew she was a genius.

"I'm typing!"
Little Miss is her own independent person, complete with her own agenda... which today includes stealing Mama's phone to use as a computer. When she gets the chance, Lorelai holds down the microphone button and asks Siri "Stay Puft Marshmellow Man Video!" but sadly Siri cannot make heads or tails of the request.

Mama took off from work today and we went to the Lego store with Daddy! Daddy and Lorelai had a great time playing with the Legos at the store. Lorelai is a big fan of emptying out the Lego bin in the center of the table... and Lego men!

Tonight was our last Christmas celebration -- a gathering with the Way family. Lorelai wasn't feeling awesome but she was still the life of the party. She regaled the group with her famous disappearing act. Bet you can't see her either. Oh, no! Where did Lorelai go?

"It's snoooowwwwing, Mama!"
Lorelai has had the special treat of seeing it snow a few times this month and she loves it every time. She camps out at the window and stairs out in awe. Lorelai loves to look at the snow.

"Daddy do it! Bum-bum. Bum-bum"
Lorelai isn't a fan of the doctor's office using a stethoscope but she does like to use hers at home. She sits patiently and points to the part of her body that needs to be listened to. Her nose is still running and she still has a cough but she is getting better all the time.

Lorelai is a very big girl. She put on her pajama pants today all by herself! They were a little inside out but otherwise-- perfect! Just like she is.

Worst sick day yet! Lorelai's eyes are draining (eye boogers!), nose is running, and her face is blotchy. Daddy took her to the doctor's and we were told that she has a stomach virus that could last up to 10 days. Our little trooper is doing her best but you can tell her face is getting chapped around her eyes where they are leaking and nose. Mama and Daddy are getting sick too. Boooo.

It snowed 12 inched today... Lorelai was beside herself with excitement as soon as she saw it, trying to stay glued to the window as long as possible.

Lorelai felt as though dinner was taking too long today so she decided to set up shop in the kitchen while she waited. She sat in the seat and even held the tray in place asking for "food, Daddy!"

Oh no! It looks like Lorelai may be getting sick. Her nose started running yesterday and her eyes were red like she was having an allergic reaction to something yesterday at Gigi's. Those symptoms persisted today and our little girl was very lethargic.

Today we had Christmas with Gig's family (the Taylor's). Everyone came to Gigi and Pop-pop's house.
Lorelai loved playing with Gavin and Sarah all day.
And, of course, there was a obscene amount of snacks and desserts that everyone kept letting Lorelai steal off of the tables. She had a great time.

Lorelai is in love with a "dip it". Like her Mama, Lorelai loves to dip things in other things. Usually, Lorelai will dip something, then suck the sauce off of the nugget, pretzel, or whatever. In this case, she was actually eating the chicken-- but only the part covered in sauce before moving on to the next one. She even dipped a few of her strawberries into the barbeque sauce...

Lorelai has a strong sense of affection for the song "Tongue Tied" by Grouplove. Daddy intentionally hadn't played it for her for a few weeks since she demands the song be played at least half a dozen times before moving on to something else.
When Daddy left the room, Lorelai wanted to hear the song again. Daddy came back to see Lorelai like this-- furiously clicking the mouse and hoping for a song to dance to.

This was Lorelai's first every legitimate temper tantrum.
Daddy was fortunate enough to catch it on film.
It lasted around 5 minutes with full on tears, kicking, screaming, and rolling around on the floor-- the works.

Lorelai is learning how to use puzzles. The doctors recommended it at her 1.5 year visit and she is really getting the hang of them. Nana gave her quite a few for Christmas. She particularly likes the animals and the puppies. We love wooden puppies. They are nice and do not bark.

We went to play with Sonja and Jensen tonight! Lorelai tried, more than once, to acquire Jensen as one of her baby dolls to play with. The girls are doing a good job learning how to play nicely together. Lorelai loves going over to see her friend!

Lorelai calls sunglasses "Cool Dudes". Usually, she is against accessories unless she decides to put them on.

We went to the Lego store today with our cousin Christopher! Chris brought along his tablet, which he shared by made us very jealous. Afterwards, we went out to dinner with Grandpop Boop, Pop-pop, Spike, and Erin. Lorelai was very excited to be with her family but really, really, really wanted to go home and see her book as well. She was clearly torn, ending the evening crying out for her book as we were zippering up her jacket. We played non-stop with the book until it was time for bed.

Lorelai is a master at relaxing. With her "book" in hand, Lorelai loves to lounge between Mama and Daddy. She loves to play games with balloons, cows, Elmo, and super heroes.

Lorelai is loving her new "book" that she got for Christmas. Mama downloaded some new Apps for her to try as well as her favorite games that are on Mama's cell phone. She has learned that she needs to sit down to play with the book and not turn it too loud.

We are learning so much every day. It is amazing to see Lorelai, who just learned a new skill like the puppy puzzle, teach it to her baby doll. It shows how kind, considerate, loving, and caring she is. It makes Mama's heart proud.

We said goodbye to Grandpop Sheppard today. It was a sad day for our family but Lorelai did her best to keep it cheerful with her fun-loving hijinks.

Later on at night, Lorelai zippered up her pajamas all by herself, proclaiming "very helpful!" And we managed to get some poop in the potty chair before bed. Not sure if it was intentional or not but progress is progress.

Busters!
Daddy was all too excited to see that Lorelai had donned the Ghostbuster's pack and blaster without any prompting from him. She even made sound effects when she was shooting the gun.

Sleepiest little princess ever.
Mama and Daddy went to Lancaster with Grandpop Boop so Lorelai stayed at Nana's to play with Chris, Aunt Mo, Uncle Pat Gal, and Pop pop. She was having so much fun, she could not be bothered with a nap. All that excitement took its toll and Lorelai fell asleep in the walk from the car to the front door of our house. Straight to bed with the little lady.

Uncle Pat is home from Arkansas for the weekend. Lorelai was very excited to hang out and play with Pat Gal! She, Pat, Aunt Mo, and Chris all played doctor together with an Operation-like Doc McStuffins game. The rules were a little lost on her one-year-old mind... she liked making the game more than pulling out the pieces.

It was imperative that Lorelai have a cell phone while playing "shopping" with her baby today. She held the phone up to her ear and talked her friend's ear off while pushing the baby around with her groceries. Lorelai has a black belt in pretending.

Nana gave Lorelai "Lips" (chap-stick) for Christmas this year. Lorelai loves Lips. She loves to open the Lips, rub it on her face, lick the Lips, and poke it with her fingers. She wants to apply the Lips repeatedly. Lips may have to disappear for a while until Lorelai can contain her enthusiasm.
