Lorelai knows many of her body parts. She can point to her nose, teeth, tongue, feet, usually her eyes and sometimes her ears. This is Lorelai's nose. And this is Lorelai's snack cup! It can be very difficult to watch an entire hockey game without our snacks.

Lorelai's second tooth has officially made an appearance. Upper right hand side, Chomper Jr has poked his way thru to join his big brother on the lower front right.

Tonight, Lorelai surprised us by showing she knows the words "Lucas", "Jacob", and "open". Lucas and Jacob were identified as soon as she saw them. Open was reserved for he milk cup-- she has a habit of closing the lid knowing fill well she still wants what is inside and that she cannot reopen it herself.

In particular, Lorelai was very excited to find baby Jacob was at home tonight when we went visiting. She exclaimed "baby!" and "Jacob!" while straining desperately on a step stool trying to reach Jacob to poke his nose. She eventually was successful. Thank goodness.

Over the past day or so, Lorelai has discovered she loves to sit on things that are approximately her height. If her little tushy will fit on it, Lorelai would like to climb up and sit upon it. She is very independent-- she wants to climb up there herself every time. And she especially loves objects that rock. If she sits on a child's chair that is not a rocker, she tries to force it into submission by throwing her little body back and forth as hard as she can. Maybe Lorelai can convince the chair that it wants to be a rocker.

Today, we had a cake for Mama. Lorelai sang what sounded like a gentle "happy happy happy" long after the song for Mama was over. It is Memorial Day and we had a BBQ at Nana and Pop-Pop's. Lorelai kept giving hugs and kisses to her cousins. It was too adorable. She loves her family.

Today was Lucas's 3rd birthday! To celebrate, we went to his house for dinner and cake.
Lorelai has developed a game with Aunt Mo without Aunt Mo even realize it was happening! Every time her Aunt sees her, she asks Lorelai for a kiss. Lorelai has taken to teasing Aunt Mo by making a kissy face, making the "kiss me" noise, then turning her head away at the last minute and cracking up. Aunt Mo then makes a sad face which causes Lorelai to laugh even harder.

Happy 5th Birthday, Aiden!
Today we went to Ridley Creek State Park with Chris to celebrate at Aiden's party! We had a very good time on the playground close by... and discovered that Lorelai is not a fan of slides! Immediately upon sitting on one, with or without her Daddy, she starts to panic and demands to be picked up off the surface again. Chris tried to help Lorelai have fun but she was not having any parts of the slide. Lorelai knows what she likes and what she does not.

Mama's little reader. Lorelai sits on her couch with a book on her lap every day. She does it independently! She'll climb up, get comfortable, and turn the pages while talking. It sounds like she is narrating the pictures that she sees. She can go on like that for hours in the morning. It is so sweet.

When you tell Lorelai "no", she tends to repeat you with a "no, no, no" and shakes her head. Sometimes, she will go back to what she was instructed to avoid only to reach for it, stop her self, and repeat "no, no, no" as she wanders away from it again.
Brilliant.

Visiting at Gigi and Grandpop's today brought Lorelai a new, important toy. Though they aren't actually the Legos of Daddy's youth, these Lego Duplos are a step in the right direction.

5/21

Sometime over the past few weeks, Lorelai has started picking up some of Mama and Daddy's habits. Most recently, we caught her saying what sounded like "cool cool cool" like a character on Community. Today, we think she was asking us if doing something was cool. "It's cool?" Yes, Lorelai. It is cool!

Happy 30th Birthday, Mama! Today we went to see Nana in Penn so Mama could spend a little time with her Mama on this very important day. Afterwards, Lorelai was treated to some pulled pork at Famous Dave's. The restaurant is now officially Lorelai Approved. She did her best to eat all of her dinner then half of Mama's. Sooooo hungry!

Lorelai has had this ad for stuffed kitties for five months. Every time she notices it out, she meows and wanders around the room with the paper. It is now well-worn and falling apart. Mama is worried that the kitties will fall apart before Lorelai is ready for that to happen.

5/18

We went to the Way's house this evening. Andrew has a Stay Puft bank on his shelf in the dinning room where we usually hang out. When Lorelai saw him today, she pointed and let out a string of syllables that sounded like excitement. Lorelai had a great time playing with him for the rest of the night. I know what she is asking Santa for this year... Daddy is very excited.

5/17

Lorelai is not a fan of uneven ground. We went to the park at the Springfield Library today with Aunt Col Col, Lucas, and Jacob to play. It was fun to see all the kids but Lorelai was unsure about the playground equipment, wood chips, and grass. She had fun on the swing, once she got used to it, and enjoyed the merry-go-round. Lucas helped her enjoy that! The loves things that go around and round (and up and down *cough* carousels *cough*).

5/16

Watching Daddy and Uncle Spike play hockey has gotten a little more complicated since Lorelai started walking. Now we spend a few moments looking at the ice, consumer our snack cup, play with our Guys, and walk around to say "hi!" to every other person watching the game. She also stands on the table to bang on the glass and try to lick the window while Mama tries to thwart her. BUT she can point out Daddy when she sees him. That excitement makes it all worth it!

5/15

Daddy and Mama bought a musical instrument kit for Lorelai for her birthday. This morning was the first time we put it out for her to play with. Note the "ooOOoooo" look on her face as she looks over at the new noise makers!

5/14

You can barely see it here but Lorelai is playing with Robin. She picked him up and had him bouncing across Daddy's table like Robin was walking. Her imagination is really developing nicely!

5/13

Lorelai had moved on to the next phase of her favorite game, Peek-a-Boo. In this version, she does not require a blanket but only hands to cover her eyes. She scrunches her eyes closed very tight and covers her face with her little digits. She may or may not wait for you to ask where she has gone before she whisks her hands away, giggling. She even will help you hide and appear from behind your own hands!

5/12

Happy Mother's Day to Mama and Nana and Gigi and all Lorelai's aunts. It was a lovely day to spend with family.

Saturday, May 11, 2013

5/11

Live D&D session at Tom and Bri's house. Lorelai came equipped with her own jar of dice (mainly in an attempt to distract her from stealing ours). We played for 10 hours and leveled up. Lorelai was most excited for us!

Friday, May 10, 2013

5/10

Lorelai takes her love of literature very seriously. Today, she took it upon herself to read the memoirs of Adam Nimoy that she found on the couch. Lorelai enjoyed the pictures but really spent most of her time focusing on the words.

Thursday, May 9, 2013

5/9

Whenever Lorelai finds something she believes to be clothes, she tries to put it on over her head. Tonight, she was wearing a pajama shirt on her head like a hat. When she wants to exaggerate being excited, she makes this open mouthed face and shakes a little with effort. It is adorable.

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

5/8

Today, we wanted to sing the Batman theme song over and over and over again. Lorelai's nose started to run today. Daddy thinks she may have seasonal allergies like he does.

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

5/7

Tonight, all Lorelai wanted was to hear the Ghostbusters song from her Staypuft. She danced around in circles and held out Staypuft every time the song ended to have Daddy help make it start again.

Monday, May 6, 2013

5/6

Sometime we have to wonder how Lorelai ever got by without her snack cup. We can't even watch the first period of Daddy and Unvle Spike's game without a few goldfish in our fists.

Sunday, May 5, 2013

5/5

Nana took Lorelai outside to enjoy the sunshine and have a swing on the glider together. We had fun watching the boys run around and play while the girls had a chat and laughed. Lorelai loves to laugh and spend time with her Nana.

5/4

Grandpop gave Lorelai the rocking elephant he had made for her Daddy when he was a boy today. Lorelai had a great time climbing onboard to go for a ride. I don't think she'll be ready to play with it alone for a bit longer but she sure did have a good time.

And as it turns out, Lorelai is going to have to wait a bit longer before she gets to be a big sister.

5/3

Tonight we went to me Erik Burke. He is 3 months old now and doing quite well working on holding his head up. Lorelai was very excited to see the baby. She is a big fan.

Nana and Pop-pop bought Lorelai a membership to the Philadelphia Zoo for her first birthday. Today we went with Nana, Aunt Col, Lucas, and Jacob-- it was a ton of fun!
Nana bought Lucas and Nicky a Zoo pass for their birthdays too so now we have friends to go with!!
